Victoria (ISN) – David Marshall scored three goals in leading the Victoria Cougars to a 14-3 win over the visiting Westshore Wolves on Thursday night in VIJHL pre-season action.

Also scoring for Victoria was Ben Kinshella (2), Daniel Orsborn (2), Nathan Chen-Mack (2), Brandon Warkun, Brody Coulter, Dane Feeney, Graham Zagrodney, and Mark Walton.

Brett Lervold scored twice for the Wolves while J. Jackson added a single.

The Cougars, who led 7-1 after one period and 10-2 after two, outshot Westshore 57-26.

Evan Roch and Rain Slavak shared the goaltending duties for Victoria while Alec Dillon and Matt Chester manned the net for the Wolves.

With the loss, Westshore falls to 3-2 in preseason play.

Not dressing for the Cougars was forward Garrett Brandsma, defenseman Robert Zadra, and fellow defenseman Dysin Mayo, who is currently in Edmonton for the Oil Kings training camp.

Victoria closes out its preseason schedule against the Nanaimo Buccaneers on Sunday, September 2. Game time at the Nanaimo Ice Centre, located at 750 Third Street, is 4:00 p.m.
