Giants Defeat Rockets in Pre-Season Affair

Kelowna (ISN) – The Vancouver Giants defeated the Kelowna Rockets 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna in Western Hockey League preseason play.

Colton Heffley and rookie Rourke Chartier scored for the Rockets while goalie Jordon Cooke was solid for the second straight night in the Kelowna net.

Dalton Sward and Reid Zalitach scored for the Giants who scored twice in the shootout while Kelowna could only manage a single goal.

The two teams split a pair of preseason games this weekend after Kelowna won 4-3 in Vancouver on Friday night.

Kelowna will face another BC division rival in a home and home series as they will play Victoria in Maple Ridge on Friday night before hosting the Royals on Saturday night at Prospera Place.
