Cowichan, last season’s BC Provincial 1st Division Champions opened the scoring and never looked back. Pronk lead the way with a pair of tries and 3 converts while Stevens crossed the line 3 times also adding a try for the Piggies was Audrey Park.

The Valkyries got tries from Lydia Toorenbourgh and Samantha Robb with Carmen Sund converting on both.
The Valkyries, last season’s VIRU Champions and BCRU Provincial Champions, are going through somewhat of a transition as many of the ladies from last years team have either moved out of town or made other commitments for the Fall season. Add to that some injuries to key players Natalie Tam and team captain Sarah Levson along with the loss of head coach Aaron Frisby to the men’s team and the team is in the process of rebuilding.

Velox played well and with the addition of a few key players and some added confidence for the new players this year’s team looks like they will be back in the hunt for another VIRU title.
