Prince George, BC – The Edmonton Oil Kings rebounded from a loss on Friday with a 4-1 win over the Cougars on Saturday night. Stephane Legault tallied on a miscue in the Cougars zone for what would be the game winner with under seven minutes to play.

Legault’s first of the WHL pre-season and second point sparked a three goal third period for the defending WHL Champions.

New York Islanders’ first round draft pick Griffin Reinhart served as the Oil Kings Captain and posted a plus-2 rating on the night. The 6’4, 202 pound defenseman from West Vancouver became the Oil Kings highest ever NHL Draft pick this past summer as he was selected 4th overall. Newcomer Edgars Kulda tallied his second of the preseason in the first period while veteran Klarc Wilson scored late in the third for the insurance marker. Sophomore Curtis Lazar would add an empty net goal in the final minute to make it a 4-1 final. The Oil Kings out shot the Cougars 39-27 a sophomore goaltender Tristan Jarry posted 26 saves on 27 shots to push his pre-season record to 2-0-0-0.

Edmonton’s overall record in the pre-season is now 2-2-0-0 with the Oil Kings taking a split out of P.G. this weekend.
