Prince Albert Raiders Trim Roster to 26

Prince Albert SK – The Prince Albert Raiders announced that they have re-assigned 15-year-old defenceman Brendan Guhle, 15-year-old forward Matteo Gennaro and 19-year-old defenceman Matt Waseylenko, to narrow their Western Hockey League roster to 26.

Guhle, the Raiders 3rd overall selection in the 2012 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft, recorded an assist and 2 penalty minutes in a pair of pre-season contests. Gennaro, who was selected by the Raiders 41st overall in this year’s Bantam Draft, appeared in the Raiders first pre-season game against the Saskatoon Blades. Both Guhle and Gennaro will return to their Midget AAA teams in Sherwood Park and St. Albert, respectively.

Waseylenko recorded an assist and 5 penalty minutes through the Raiders first two pre-season games this weekend. The Raiders 103rd overall draft pick in 2008 will report to the Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

The Raiders continue their WHL pre-season schedule on Thursday, as they host the Swift Cutrrent Broncos at the Art Hauser Centre starting at 7:00 PM. The Raiders will finish off exhibition play in Gull Lake on Saturday September 15th against the Broncos.
