Royals Send Kade Pilton to Regina in Trade

September 13, 2012, Victoria, BC – The Victoria Royals are pleased to announce that the club has traded for the rights to forward Demico Hannoun (1995) and a conditional draft pick from the Regina Pats. In exchange, the Royals have sent defenceman Kade Pilton (1994) to the Pats.

Hannoun spent the 2011-12 season as a member of the South Surrey Eagles in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). In his rookie season, the Delta, BC native collected 26 points (12g-14a) to go along with 25 penalty minutes in 49 games played. The 16-year-old helped the Eagles reach the semi-finals of the 2012 Fred Page Cup playoffs, registering a goal and an assist in 10 post-season games.

During the 2010-11 season, the 5-11, 175 lb forward suited up for the Greater Vancouver Canadians of the BC Major Midget Hockey League. Hannoun registered 41 points (17g-24a) through 39 games played before going on to record five points (1g-4a) in six playoff games.

Selected by the Regina Pats in the ninth round, 181st overall, of the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft, Hannoun spent the majority of the 2009-10 season with the North Delta Devils Bantam AAA squad while also dressing for two games with the Greater Vancouver Canadians.

Victoria sends Pilton to Regina after the 17-year-old spent the 2011-12 season with the Royals. Drafted by the Chilliwack Bruins in the second round, 25th overall, in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft, Pilton recorded 14 points (5g-9a) in 45 games with the franchise while also recording 52 minutes in penalties.
