Huskies Defeat NAIT in CIS Hockey Action

September 14, 2012, Saskatoon, SK (ISN) – University of Saskatchewan forward Danny Stone tallied a hat trick in a 7-1 Huskies win over the NAIT Ooks in a non-conference game at Saskatoon’s Rutherford Rink Friday night.

The fourth-year from Prince Albert, Sask., scored at 10:21 and 11:04 in the first. She added her final goal with just under four minutes left in the second period.

Saskatchewan led 2-0 after the first and added three goals in the second. They tallied two more in the third. NAIT scored their lone goal of the game in the second period at 6:31 by Vanessa Klimpke.

Also tallying for the Huskies in the game was captain Cara Wooster (17:26, 3rd), veteran defenceman Megan Frohaug (9:10, 2nd), as well as Cami Wooster (16:58, 2nd) and rookie Carlee Hrenkiw (18:49, 3rd).

Huskie goaltenders Justine Denure and Tehnille Gard shared time in net making 24 saves.

The Huskies travel to Regina for a non-conference tournament next weekend and open the regular season at home on October 5 against the new Mount Royal University Cougars.
