Glover makes 27 saves in 3-0 shutout of Everett

September 14, 2012, Kent, WA (ISN) – Brandon Glover made 27 saves Friday night at ShoWare Center to help lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Everett Silvertips in a preseason game.

The T-Birds got goals from Taylor Green, Seth Swenson and Brendan Rouse in the first period for all the scoring in the game.

These two teams will meet again Saturday night at Comcast Arena in Everett in the final preseason game of the year for both teams.

Green got the T-Birds in front 1-0 at 6:14 of first period. Justin Hickman won a faceoff in the left circle of the Everett zone to Swenson. Swenson sent it back to Green at the left point. Green took a wrist shot with traffic in front of Everett goalie Adam Lotz. Green’s shot beat Lotz low for his first goal of the preseason.

Seattle (2-2-1-0) went in front 2-0 at 14:04 of the first on an unassisted goal from Swenson. Everett had the puck in the left corner of the Seattle zone. A pass to the blue line at center ice got past the Everett point-man. Swenson outraced an Everett defender to the puck for a breakaway. Swenson beat Lotz by making a move right then bringing the puck back left and beating the goalie with a backhand shot high.

The T-Birds took a 3-0 lead on a power-play goal from Rouse at 17:01 of the first. Luke Lockhart sent the puck from the left corner to Jesse Forsberg just inside the blue line at center ice. Forsberg launched a slap shot on goal that hit Lotz up high. The puck rebounded to Rouse at the top of the crease and he slid it past a stretching Lotz.

Seattle outshot Everett 12-4 in the first period.

The T-Birds led in shots 21-15 after two periods.

Both teams had 12 shots on goal in the third period and the T-Birds finished with a 33-27 advantage in shots.

Glover played the whole game and got his first win in preseason.

Lotz played the entire game for Everett and made 30 saves on 33 shots.
