Blades Re-Assign Pair

September 17, 212, Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatoon Blades have announced that they have re-assigned defenceman Kyle Schmidt and goaltender Patrick Johnson.

Schmidt, a native of Waldheim, Saskatchewan spent one full season with the Blades after being acquired from the Calgary Hitmen last season. He appeared in 61 games with Saskatoon last year, posting 2 goals, 10 points and a +8 rating. In 3 pre-season games in 2012-13, Schmidt scored one goal and had a -1 rating. He has been re-assigned to the Battlefords North Stars of the SJHL.

Johnson, a native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan appeared in one game with the Blades during the 2011-12 season and also made one appearance during the 2012-13 pre-season. This past Friday night, Johnson played in the second half and earned the win in Regina, allowing only one goal on 11 shots. He has been re-assigned to the Melfort Mustangs of the SJHL.

With these moves, the Blades roster now sits at 23 players including 2 goalies, 7 defenceman and 14 forwards.
