September 22, 2012, Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Mount Doug Junior Varsity Rams would be virtually unstoppable, scoring on all but one of their possessions to rout the Seaquam Seahawks 35-0 in BC High School Junior Varsity football pre-season action Saturday at Mount Doug Field.

The Rams had their way with the disorganized looking Seaquam defence, scoring easily on their first two possessions on passing plays from QB Joey Clarke to receiver Ross Faulkner.

The Rams would then take to the running game for their next two scores including runs by Pato Vega and a 5-yard run by Zachary Uddenberg that made it 28-0.

Meanwhile the Rams defence was solid, never letting the Seahawks past midfield, except for a fumbled punt reception late in the first half that gave the Hawks possession on the Ram 40 yard line.  The Ram defence would hold however and take that 28-0 lead into the break.

With a 28 point lead, the second half began under running time, a sort of mercy-rule that is put in place when the score differential is 28 points or more.  Seaquam took the kick-off and after their drive stalled, the Rams went with Gavin Cobb at quarterback.  In their first drive of the half, the Rams went three and out and punted for the first time in the game.

After the Seaquam offense was once again stymied by a stingy Ram defence marking the end of the third quarter, Cobb went to work, first hitting Oliver Mackenzie with a nice passing play, and then hooking up with Gevhahn McNally, who made a nice over the shoulder catch, to get the ball near the Seahawk goal line.  Cobb then snuck it over the line for the touchdown and with the convert successful, the Rams were up 35-0.

Seaquam then mounted their first decent drive of the day, but it would be for naught, as the Rams would intercept a pass at the goaline to preserve the shutout.

Cobb and the offence then came back on the field and ran out the clock on what was an impressive victory.
