September 29, 2012, Victoria, BC – The Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE) is excited to announce that the The Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock Team will be making a stop at PISE’s Sport Day on Thursday, October 4, just one day before the completion of their 1000-kilometre journey.
PISE is located on Camosun’s College’s Interurban Campus.
Two hundred and twenty-five students from Northridge and Prospect Lake Schools will greet the team who are scheduled to arrive at PISE between 11:25 am and 11:55 am. A head shaving is scheduled for approximately 11.30 am when PISE Client Specialist Ben Syme will lose his hair all for a good cause. During the visit PISE and the students will present the Cops for Cancer Team with funds raised from the day including the head shave.
PISE Sports Day promotes physical activity, health and wellness, and from 9:30 am students can partake in five sport stations – soccer, athletics, tennis, basketball and badminton. After they arrive the team will have an opportunity to interact with the kids and take part in the activities.
The Cops for Cancer Team started their 14-day journey on September 22 and will finish on Friday October 5. The team raises money for pediatric cancer research and programs for children with a history of cancer.
