Victoria to face Medicine Hat for first Student Night of the season


October 2, 2012, Victoria, B.C. – The Victoria Royals welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers to Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre for a weekday match-up this Wednesday, October 3rd. Puck drop for Wednesday’s contest is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

After starting the season with a 3-1-0-0 record, the Royals will look to grab their fourth win of the season against the Tigers. The Tigers head into the B.C. capital with the same 3-1-0-0 record and will look for recently-named Denny’s WHL Player of the Week, Hunter Shinkaruk, to continue his hot start to the year.

Wednesday’s game will mark the first Student Night of the season. All students presenting a valid student card at the box office will receive their ticket for just $12.00! Standard tickets to Wednesday’s contest are still available in-person at the Select Your Tickets Box Office, online at or over the phone at (250)220-7777.

During the game, fans will be able to purchase tickets for the End of the Roll 50/50 draw and foam pucks for the Old House Village Chuck-A-Puck. Prizes for the evening’s Chuck-A-Puck will include a one-night stay and spa treatment for two courtesy of Old House Village and a $550.00 driving lesson package supplied by Steve Wallace Driving School. Proceeds from each contest will support Peninsula Minor Hockey. Lucky fans in attendance will also have the chance to participate in the Capital Iron Scramble during the first intermission where one contestant will win a Troop Softside Travel Case.
