October 14, 2012, Victoria, BC (ISN) – Myles Powell scored at the 1:01 mark of overtime to give the Victoria Grizzlies a 3-2 decision over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in BCHL action Sunday afternoon at Bear Mountain Arena in Victoria.
In earning the win, the Grizzlies had to overcome a 2-0 Alberni Valley lead, as Ryan Lough (in the first period) and Chris Tracy (in the second) had scored to put the Bulldogs up after two periods.

In the third period the Grizzlies found their game and came out flying, outshooting the Bulldogs 17-6 and getting markers from Myles Fitzgerald at the 3:29 mark and Leo Fitzgerald on the powerplay at the 14:25 mark of the third to tie things up.

Powell’s goal in OT was assisted by Gerry Fitzgerald, his third of the game, and DJ Jones, his second. Michael Stiladis made 28 of 30 saves for the win in net.
With the win the Grizzlies move to 8-4-0-1 on the season, good enough for first place in the Island Division, a point up on the Bulldogs.
