PISE Announces Continuation of Fall Program Schedule

November 3, 2012, Victoria BC – The Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE) will be continuing its community programs into the fall session that runs from October 30 – December 17. Many of the new programs introduced earlier in the fall are available for registrations.

The new high intensity training program, PISE H.I.I.T., is continuing. This innovative session incorporates periods of short intense anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods. Based on the Tabata™ principle, the workout boosts metabolism and improves fat burning.

Spinning continues to be a popular choice with Erg Spinning and PISE Super Spin. The Saturday Circuit and TRX™ Suspension Training are also back. TRX™ is the hottest form of bodyweight training today which utilizes upper and lower body muscles in a tough and challenging workout.

The ABCs of Physical Literacy programs for kids aged from 3 – 10 teaches fundamental sport skills, such as throwing, jumping, catching and running. Divided into three age ranges: 3 – 5, 5 – 7, and 8 – 10, the five-week sessions teach the basic ABCs of physical literacy – Agility, Balance, Coordination and Speed. For kids who want to develop racquet skills, Progressive Tennis for ages 6 – 10, is an innovative and exciting program that teaches ball contact and rally skills. PISE Physical Literacy programs are also available at Saanich Parks and Recreation and Victoria West Community Centre.
