November 9, 2012, Victoria, BC – The Camosun Colelge Chargers Men’s and Women’s volleyball squads were both victorious over Douglas College in PACWEST league action Friday night at PISE.

Camosun 3 – 1 Douglas

(25-16, 25-17, 19-25, 25-23)

Camosun took an early lead in tonight’s match claiming two solid sets before falling to a revitalized Royals squad in the third. Douglas challenged the Chargers once again in the fourth, storming back to tie the score to 21-all from a 20-12 deficit. Despite a great effort by the visiting team, the Chargers edged out their opponents to a 3-1 win and improve their record to 2-5. Second-year leftside Carly Hilliard (Seaquam, Delta) led the Chargers with 17 kills, 4 stuff blocks and 2 aces.

Camosun 3 – 1 Douglas

(19-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-19)

The Chargers men handed the undefeated Douglas College Royals their first loss of the season with tonight’s four set win. The No. 2 Nationally ranked Royals fall to 8-1 while the Chargers chalk up their fourth win of seven matches played. Fifth-year leftside Garrett Marcellus led the men with 15 kills, 3 aces and 1 block. Returnee and 2011-12 PACWEST Rookie of the Year Alex Sadowski made 8 kills, 2 aces and 5 blocks.
