November 10, 2012 (ISN) University of Saskatchewan defenceman Cody Hobbs scored in overtime to give the Huskies a 2-1 victory over the visiting University of Regina Cougars Friday night at Rutherford Rink in Saskatoon.

Hobbs shot from the point beat Cougars’ netminder Andrew Hayes 2:36 into the five-minute four-on-four overtime frame for the victory.

With the win the Huskies move to 7-1-0 on the season and sit on a six game winning streak. Regina falls to 5-3-1.

Kenton Dulle finally opened the scoring in the game at 8:42 in the third period when he pounced on the loose puck in a scramble in front of the net. Brayden Nargang tied the game at 15:25.

Despite the loss, Hayes was spectacular in the game making 40 saves for the Cougars. Ryan Holfeld made 25 saves at the other end of the ice for the Huskies.

The two teams will meet again Saturday in Regina to finish out the home-and-home series.
