November 10, 2012, Victoria, BC – In a reversal of last night’s wins against the Douglas College Royals, the Camosun Chargers volleyball teams lost each of their matches Saturday despite two hard fought efforts.
Women’s Final Score
Douglas 3 – 2 Camosun (25-20, 13-25, 17-25, 26-24, 15-11)
Today’s women’s match could have gone either way with Camosun and Douglas battling it out to five. Despite a hard fought effort, the home team could not pull off the win and the visiting Royals collected their third victory of the season putting them at 3-7. At the end of Week 5, the Chargers women are 2-6. Third-year leftside Hilary Graham had another big game this afternoon contributing 20 kills, 1 ace and 11 digs. Second-year middle Morgan Marshall (Smithers) added 13 kills, 2 aces 1 block and 2 digs.
Men’s Final Score
Douglas 3 – 1 Camosun (25-19, 17-25, 25-13, 25-16)
Despite providing the Royals with their first loss of the season in last night’s four setter, the Chargers men could not repeat their previous performance and fell to the defending PACWEST champions 3 sets to 1 in today’s match. The Royals now sit at 9-1 while the Chargers move to 4-8. Fifth-year rightside Andrew Inglis (Red Deer) led the Chargers with 18 kills, 1 ace and 15 digs.
The Chargers volleyball teams put on their hosting hats again next weekend, as Abbotsford’s Columbia Bible College Bearcats travel to Victoria.
