November 16, 2012, Victoria, BC – Marcus Davis would score four touchdowns in total to lead the Mt. Doug Rams to a 45-20 victory over the Terry Fox Ravens Friday in BC High School Football AAA Varsity playoff action at Westhills Stadium in Victoria.
Last year it was current Arizona State University footballer Terrell Davis that led the Mt. Doug Rams to the Provincial title. This year it is looking like his younger brother Marcus will do the same.
Davis was spectacular on Friday, scoring four touchdowns, three of which came on pass receptions and one of which came on a 90-yard kick off return. He also had a key interception for the Rams.

“I cannot not say enough great things about Marcus Davis and his talents,” said Mt. Douglas head coach Mark Townsend after the game. “He is a special young man.”
Although the Rams were in control for the entire game, they began slowly in this one, scoring just a 39-yard field goal from Callum Duke to lead 3-0 after the first quarter.

In the second, the Rams began to pull away with touchdown passes from Aston MacKinnon (9 for 17, 3 TDs) to Brian Dowds and Davis, plus a touchdown pass from Dowds himself to Davis on a trick play, and the Rams took a 24-0 lead into the locker room at half.
The Rams would increase that lead to 31-0 in the third quarter when MacKinnon threw his third touchdown pass of the game, an eight-yard pass to Davis.

The Ravens would finally get on the board, missing the convert, to make it 31-6, but Davis would immediately change the momentum back into the Rams favour with his 90-yard kickoff return to make it 38-6 Rams.
In the fourth, after the Ravens would score again including a 2-point convert, hard-charging running back Mason Swift (11 carries for 81 yards) would get his name on the score sheet with a 2 yard plunge to make it 45-14 Rams.

Terry Fox would cap off the scoring with a late touchdown, but could come no closer than the 45-20 final score.
“Our defense played their strongest game of the season against a quality and well coached Terry Fox team,” said Townsend. “We were extremely pleased with our defensive effort and pressure, with the 6 turnovers being a key part of our win.
Statistics wise, Swift led the defense with 7 tackles, while Mitch Pearse had 6. Davis, Sean Waugh and James Jones had the picks, while Sasha Shurvin (with 2) and Jones had the fumble recoveries.
