November 19, 2012, Victoria, BC – The Co-op Women have been on a run of late and now sit tied with 2 other teams with 17 points, 1 away from top spot in the Metro Women’s Premier Division.

Last Sunday November 11th,  goals were scored by Mariel Solsberg, Ceilidh Glennie, and Marisa Livingstone in a strong performance by all players against North Shore. Special mention must go to defender Lindsay Machin for her strongest game of the year thus far and to Veronica Hackett for securing yet another shutout.

This past Saturday, the squad lost a tough 4-3 decision to the Vancouver Whitecaps Elite U18 team, who lead the league with 18 points. 

In additional news, the Winter Prospects won on Tuesday, November 13 against Vic West Division 1 with a score of 4 nil. Two goals by Brianne Wright and singles by Kiana Cowger and Ashley Dukeshire sealed the victory. The Prospects have 3 wins and 2 losses thus far against Premier and Division 1 sides, and have been very impressive in their performances.

Opposition coaches have all commented on how well they are passing the ball and their movement and understanding off the ball has been exceptional. The Prospects play Castaways Premier on November 20th at 8 at PISE.
