The Bears (11-3-0) received 15 first-place votes from the 17-member media panel in the seventh poll of the campaign, with the other No. 1 nods going to the second-ranked UNB Varsity Reds (9-3-0) and the fifth-seeded UQTR Patriotes (8-3-1). UNB is up two positions this week while UQTR stays put.

Rounding out the new Top 10 are the No. 3 Acadia Axemen (9-3-0) and No. 4 Saskatchewan Huskies (9-3-0), both down one spot; No. 6 Windsor Lancers (10-2-0) and No. 7 Moncton Aigles Bleus (7-3-2), who swap places this week; No. 8 Western Mustangs (9-3-0), up one; as well as the No. 9 UBC Thunderbirds (8-3-1) and No. 10 Toronto Varsity Blues (7-3-2), both unranked last Tuesday.

The Canada West-leading Bears got all they could handle from Regina last Friday before prevailing 3-2 thanks to a goal by Kruise Reddick after a minute and eight seconds of overtime. They won more convincingly on Saturday, taking the second end of the two-game series 5-2. Top-ranked Alberta hosts No. 9 UBC this weekend for a Friday-Saturday doubleheader in Edmonton.

UNB defeated Dalhousie 6-3 last Friday before doubling Acadia 4-2 the next night in a hard-fought Top-10 battle.

In addition to the UBC-Alberta two-game set, two more Top-10 confrontations are on the schedule this weekend, both on Saturday, including Toronto at UQTR and UNB at Moncton.
