November 22, 2012, Victoria, BC – The Victoria Royals will host the Prince George Cougars for a pair of games this weekend. The two BC Division foes will meet on Friday, November 23rd and Saturday, November 24th, respectively. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday night.
The Royals are halfway through their longest homestand of the season. The team has a 2-1-0-0 record after three of their six straight games at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Overall Victoria has a 12-11-0-0 record equaling 24 points and sit in the sixth position in the Western Conference. Prince George currently is in eighth place with an 8-11-1-3 record good for 20 points in the Western Conference.
The Royals have partnered with Victory Barber and Brand to support men’s health and awareness and the Movember Campaign. Fans are encouraged to visit the Royals Season Ticket Holder information booth at Royals Court to cast their vote for their favourite “Mo Bro” moustache on the team. Donations are also being accepted and one lucky ballot will be drawn at the Movember finale game on November 27th, presented by 103.1 Jack FM and Ocean 98.5, for a $250 gift basket from Victory Barber and Brand as well as a autographed Victoria Royals jersey.
BFI Canada will have bins at both Friday and Saturday nights’ games and will be collecting non-perishable food donations as part of the Royals’ Stop Hunger Campaign in support of The Mustard Seed. Every patron that donates to this great cause will receive a coupon for $3 off to a future Victoria Royals game.
Friday, November 23rd
Friday night the first 1,000 fans through the door will be rewarded with 1,000 Save-On More points courtesy of Save-On-Foods.
During the first intermission, Tim Bits Minor Hockey will feature players from Juan de Fuca Minor Hockey Association. The second intermission will see the Save-On-Foods Shopping Cart Race where randomly selected fans will blaze a course around the ice vying for a $100 Christmas Dinner that will feature all the fixings courtesy of Save-On-Foods!
During the game, fans will be able to purchase tickets for the End of the Roll 50/50 draw and foam pucks for the Old House Village Chuck-A-Puck. Prizes for the evening’s Chuck-A-Puck will include a one-night stay and spa treatment for two courtesy of Old House Village and a Family 4-Pack to the Royal BC Museum! Proceeds from the evening’s End of the Roll 50/50 will benefit the Oak Bay Figure Skating Club and Old House Village Chuck-A-Puck will support the Juan de Fuca Minor Hockey Association.
Saturday, November 24th
The first intermission will see players from Peninsula Minor Hockey Association participate in Tim Bits Minor Hockey while the second intermission will feature a Butchart Gardens on-ice promotion with four admissions to the Magic of Christmas, four skating passes to the Butchart Ice Rink and four dinners at the Blue Poppy Restaurant!
