The Chargers men blasted by a height-hefty Avalanche squad tonight proving that size isn’t really everything. Even the Av’s combination of 7’0″ fifth-year middle Taylor Verboom, 6’8″ leftside Trevor Zemlak and 6’7″ rightside Curtis Stockton could not stop the home team’s determined charge tonight. The win puts Camosun 7-4 while the Avalanche slide to 5-4. Fifth-year leftside Garrett Marcellus was Camosun’s high man tonight with 10 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace and 8 digs. Second-year middle Alex Sadowski (Belmont) had 8 kills and 3 blocks while fifth-year rightside Andy Inglis (Red Deer) posted 9 kills and 2 aces.
The Chargers look for another pair of wins tomorrow as they return to PISE to play their last matches of the 2012 PACWEST season against the Avalanche. Women at 11am; Men at 1pm.
