November 27, 2012, Victoria, BC – The Victoria Royals will host the Moose Jaw Warriors tonight at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in a Tuesday night match-up. The meeting marks the only time during the 2012-13 WHL regular season that the two teams will clash. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
Tonight marks the final game of a six-game homestand for Victoria. Sitting in third place in the B.C. Division standings with a 13-12-0-0 record, the Royals will look to import forward Alex Gogolev, who is currently riding a nine-game point streak, as they battle for two more points before heading to Prince George on Friday. Moose Jaw, now 8-11-3-4 and occupying the sixth spot in the East Division, will rely on defenceman Morgan Rielly as they try to record the first win of their current seven-game road swing. Rielly, selected fifth overall by the Toronto Maple Leaves in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, has 22 points (4g-18a) through 26 games so far this season.
Tuesday evening is Jack FM and The Ocean 98.5 FM night and also marks the end of the Royals’ month-long Movember campaign! Jamie Crooks, Tim Traber, Steven Hodges and Brandon Magee have been growing their moustaches for the cause throughout the month and the player that has raised the most cash for the Movember Foundation will be announced at tonight’s game.
