December 3, 2012, Saskatoon, SK (ISN) – Kyle Bortis and Kenton Dulle tallied two goals each in a 6-3 University of Saskatchewan victory over the visiting Mount Royal University Cougars Saturday night in Saskatoon’s Rutherford Rink.

Mount Royal goals: Eric Galbraith (3)

Saskatchewan goals: Kyle Bortis (2), Brennan Bosch, Kenton Dulle (2), Brandon Herrod 

Huskie leading scorer Bortis scored at 4:16 and 18:57 in the second period. Dulle tallied his at 14:31 in the first period and 16:13 in the third. Andrew Bailey and Brennan Bosch each finished the game with three points.

With the win, the Huskies finish the first half of the Canada West men’s hockey season with a 13-3-0 record. Mount Royal sits at 4-14-0. A night earlier, the Huskies won 6-2. Saskatchewan is undefeated in their last eight home games.

Mount Royal’s Eric Galbraith was a big highlight for the Cougars in the loss scoring hat trick in the game. Galbraith tallied at 5:24 on the power play in the second period and twice in the third at 3:34 and 4:46.

Also scoring for the Huskies was captain Bosch at 4:24 in the first and rookie Brandon Herrod at 2:09 in the third.

Saskatchewan goaltender Ryan Holfeld made 31 saves in the win, while Dalyn Flette made 37 in the loss for the Cougars.

The game was the last of the first half of the Canada West season for both teams. The Huskies return to conference action January 4-5 at home against the Manitoba Bisons, while the Cougars do not play until January 11 in Winnipeg against the Bisons.
