Lower Island AAA High School Basketball Tips Off League Play Tuesday

December 4, 2012, Victoria, BC (ISN) – It didn’t take long for the Oak Bay Senior Boys basketball team to show why they are ranked #1 on the Island as they destroyed the #9 ranked Reynolds Roadrunners 91-40 in the opening game of South Island High School basketball league play on Tuesday night.

Leading the way for the Bays was Mat Hampton with 23 points while Matt Gray chipped in 14.

In other action, the 4th ranked Belmont Bulldogs prevailed over 7th ranked Spectrum 58-35, while #3 ranked Claremont dismantled unranked Stelly’s 70-28.

For Belmont, Erik Spaven led all scorers with 23 points, while Claremont received 12 points from Mason Loewen and 11 from Max Cullen in their win over Stelly’s.  For Stelly’s, Parker Phillips had 12 points in the losing effort.
