December 7, 2012, Nanaimo, BC (ISN) – The Buccaneers are starting their three game stretch off in the right way. On Thursday night the Bucs took on the Campbell River Storm and came away with a 4-1 win in front of 300 fans at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
In the first period, Cambell River’s Bryan Read took a 2 minute penalty for slashing and the Buccaneers jumped on the opportunity with a power play goal by Will McNamara.
In the second, the Buccaneers kept on going and at 9:20, AP Curtis McCarrick scored his first ever junior goal assisted by Adam Smith and Daniel Foglietta. Shortly thereafter, Derian Hamilton from AP David Osborne netted another to make the game 3-0.
The Buccaneers got into penalty trouble in the third period and the Storm’s Mike Allison put the Storm on the board, but it wasn’t enough and at 19:02, Curtis McCarrick scored his second of the night with an empty netter.
The Buccaneers take this game 4-1, with AP Curtis McCarrick getting not one, but two goals on the night to be the second star of the game, while Derian Hamiton gets the first star and Buccaneers net minder Riley Medves gets 3rd star.
The Buccaneers now go to Campbell River on Friday.
