December 6, 2012, Nanaimo, BC – The North Island Silvertips have been victims of some unlucky bounces that lead to goals for the other team but they are hopping for that to change this weekend when they play a double header here in Nanaimo against the 2-16-2 Kootenay Ice.

First game is on Saturday, Dec 8th at 5:15PM followed by a morning game on Dec 9th at 10:30AM both at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.

Silvertips Head Coach Jason Dubyna says they need to play a team game “we need to be ready to compete for the puck every shift.” He noted “we have been successful with our speed and we will need to get back to being the fastest team on the ice!”

Forward Grady Mcinnes believes just because they are second to last in the league not does mean a guaranteed win “They’ve had close games with the best teams in this league,” Mcinees went onto say “to win these two games we have to come out wanting to win and have to play the whole game with not shift to shift!”
