December 10, 2012, Nanaimo, BC (ISN) – On Sunday morning the North Island Silvertips were looking for some redemption against the Kootenay Ice and shut them out 2-0.

Both teams played a great classic game of hockey with only 4 penalties called in the entire game, as well as some great hits.

In the first period the Tips’ came out hungry and at 3:22 they managed to get on the board with a goal from Nicolas Gomerich with assists from Joe Surgenor and Curtis McCarrick.

Both goalies were outstanding throughout the game especially in the second period with no goals on net. In the third period it was Curtis McCarrick with assists from Gomerich and Boutilier to make it a 2-0 game, and that was all she wrote.

Goaltender Liam Young gets the shutout, while the Tips’ go 1-1 versus the Ice.
