December 11, 2012, Cranbrook, BC – The Kelowna Rockets scored three times in the third period in a come from behind victory over the Kootenay Ice on Tuesday night, kicking off a five game road trip through the Western Hockey League’s Central Division.
Tyson Baillie scored twice while Cole Martin netted the game winner as Kelowna defeated the Ice 3-1 in the first of five games in six days this week.
The goals came within a six minute span in the third, after Kootenay had led 1-0 after two periods of play.
Jordon Cooke was solid in net for Kelowna, especially in the first period, when the Rockets were outshot 9-4. The Rockets outshot Kootenay in the game 33-30.
The Rockets have now won three straight games and eight of its past nine to improve to 20-9-1-1 on the season.
Kelowna will play Wednesday in Lethbridge in a game that will be broadcast on Rogers Sportsnet. Thursday is an off day before games in Medicine Hat, Red Deer and Calgary close out the trip this weekend.
The Rockets return home after Christmas to play Kamloops on Dec. 27.
