December 17, 2012, CALGARY, AB., (ISN) – Canada’s golden girl of bobsleigh, Kaillie Humphries, returned home for the holidays today, arriving at the Calgary International Airport this afternoon.

The 27-year-old reigning Olympic and World Champion is having the bobsleigh run of her life, rattling off a historic eight straight victories. The winning streak, which began last February when she won two World Cups before becoming the first Canadian woman to win the bobsleigh World Championships, has continued her victory trail this season where she remains unbeaten with rookie brakeman, Chelsea Valois of Zenon Park, Sask. The newly formed Canadian duo have won all five races held this year on tracks in North America, Germany and France.

Humphries set the record for consecutive wins two weekends ago at seven in Winterberg, Germany before winning one more time before the holiday break on Friday in La Plagne, France. Germany’s Sandra Kiriasis held the previous record at six races in a row during the 2004-05/2005-06 seaons.
