December 28, 2012, North Saanich, BC – After suffering back-to-back losses for the first time this season prior to the Christmas break, the Saanich Junior Braves responded nicely Friday night with a 4-0 shut-out win over the Peninsula Panthers in VIJHL action at Panorama Recreation Centre.

Leading the way for Saanich was goaltender Tanner McGaw who was perfect, stopping all 26 shots he faced, while offensively the Braves were led by Major Midget call-up Nick Guiney who potted a pair of goals.

Sam Johnston and Shawn McBride also hit the net for the Braves while Sam McMullen added a pair of assists.

Also of note for the Braves were Josh Gray and Nolan Kinney who made their return to the line-up after missing a number of games due to injury.

Next up for Saanich is the Oceanside Generals, who host the Braves on Saturday night at Oceanside Place in Parksville.
