Simpson Traded to Lethbridge

January 9, 2013, Cranbrook, BC (ISN) – Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club, today announced the Club has traded 18-year-old Defenceman Mike Simpson to the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for a fifth round draft pick in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.

“This trade will allow our younger defencemen to play more while giving Mike an opportunity to continue his WHL career in Lethbridge. We wish Mike all the best with the Hurricanes.” added Chynoweth

As a result of today’s transaction, the ICE have 21 players on their roster and seven picks in the first five rounds of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft including one in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds and four in the 5th round.
