Spartans Swim Team to Compete in Canada West Championships

January 25, 2013, Langley, BC (ISN) – The Trinity Western swimming teams will compete this weekend in the Canada West Championships in Victoria, which run Jan. 25-27 at Saanich Commonwealth Place.

This will mark the third year the Spartans have competed in the Canada West Championships since the program was launched at TWU in 2010.

The men’s schools will be competing for the E.W. Griffiths Trophy, while the women’s challenge for the Felstad Memorial Trophy.

The UBC Thunderbirds made a clean sweep last season, claiming both Canada West banners before going on to win team gold in both the men’s and women’s CIS events.

SCHEDULE

Friday, Jan. 25 Finals: 5:00-7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 26 Preliminaries: 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.; Finals at 5:00-7:30 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 27 Preliminaries: 9:00-11:00 a.m.; Finals at 2:00-4:00 p.m.
