February 5, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Chargers men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams were on the road this past weekend, each completing their second final set of road games before heading into their final two weekends of competition in the regular season.
CHARGERS VOLLEYBALL ROAD RESULTS
In volleyball action, the Chargers travelled to Abbotsford where they faced off against the Columbia Bible College Bearcats. The Chargers men picked up their second consecutive weekend sweep defeating the Cats in four on Friday (25-16, 23-25, 25-20, 25-11) and capturing Saturday’s win in straight sets (25-20, 25-17, 25-18). Third-year power hitter Alex Wolf led Camosun with a weekend total of 28 offensive points (23 kills, 3 aces, 2 stuff blocks). At 13-7, the Chargers remain tied for 3rd in the PACWEST standings.
On the women’s side, Camosun split their double header matches falling to CBC the first day in an extremely tight battle that went to five sets (25-18, 28-26, 22-25, 22-25, 16-14) and coming back the following day to collect the win in four (25-22, 25-23, 12-25, 25-19). Third-year leftside Hilary Graham had an outstanding weekend, producing a total of 42 points on offense (39 kills and 3 aces). The Chargers hold on to 4th place with a record of 8-12.
CHARGERS BASKETBALL ROAD RESULTS
The Chargers women’s basketball team produced mixed results this weekend falling to Langara 57-43 in Friday’s contest and making a come-back win on Saturday against the Douglas College Royals 55-43. Improving to 7-10, the Chargers maintain 6th spot in the conference standings.
In men’s action, the Chargers were defeated in Friday’s game 97-72 by the No. 2 nationally-ranked Falcons. The Chargers suffered another loss on Saturday dropping their match against Douglas, 81-74. Camosun moves to 7-10 and falls one spot to tie for 4th in the standings

The Chargers basketball teams hit the road one last time before the post-season as they tip-off against the Capilano Blues (North Vancouver) and the Quest University Kermodes (Squamish). Friday’s games at Capilano are at 6:00 & 8:00pm; Saturday’s vs. Quest at 1:00 & 3:00pm. All games will be webcast live on SportsCanadaTV.
