UBC Okanagan Volleyball Teams Square Off with the Brandon Bobcats

February 8, 2013, Kelowna, BC (ISN) – This week women’s volleyball, the test for UBC Okanagan this weekend will be against the Brandon Bobcats who will also come into this weekend with the thought of earning a playoff berth while the UBC Okanagan women’s volleyball team set their eyes on another goal – hosting a playoff series.

This two game series of with playoff implications for the Heat will see first serve on Friday night at 6 p.m. and the same two foes will play the rematch on Saturday night at 5 p.m. with a ceremony to honour graduating Alex Basso just before the contest. All games will be played in UBC Okanagan campus Gymnasium.

No. 9 UBC Okanagan (16-10/13-7 CanWest) vs. Brandon Bobcats (14-15/8-12 CanWest) – 6 p.m.

Fri Feb. 8 – in the UBC Okanagan campus Gymnasium, Kelowna, BC

No. 9 UBC Okanagan vs. Brandon Bobcats – 5 p.m.

Sat Feb. 9 – in the UBC Okanagan campus Gymnasium, Kelowna, BC

Tickets: Admission is free for UBC students with Student ID and for children under 12. Adults are $5 and just $3 for youth, seniors and visiting students.

This Week in Men’s Volleyball: The No. 8 Brandon Bobcats will come to Kelowna this weekend having already clinched a playoff berth whereas the Heat will want to defend their home court and send out their three graduating players on a winning note.

The Heat will look to play spoiler in the Friday and Saturday matches. Friday night they will get underway at 8 p.m. and the Saturday rematch will start at 7 p.m. right after the UBC Okanagan faithful celebrate three graduating players in their last match, the players are: Jeremy Kler, Riley McFarland, and Brett Uniat.

UBC Okanagan (4-26/2-18 CanWest) vs. No. 8 Brandon Bobcats (18-12/11-9 CanWest) – 8 p.m.
