February 14, 2013, (ISN) – This Saturday, the men host a couple of exhibition matches. The Academy squad will play Comox (1pm), and the Valhallians take on the CW Premier squad (2:45) in a tough test of their promotion ambitions. Sunday, the 3rds host Nanaimo (1pm).
The traditional Velox chili contest was held at the club during the SuperBowl party. In a shocking development, John Lyall placed dead last. He is reportedly inconsolable.
As spring approaches, the club is once again looking for volunteers to help out in the local schools as rugby coaches or assistant coaches.
In particular, Reynolds is looking for an assistant forwards coach. If you are available (usually Tuesday/Thurs afternoons 3:30-5, but one day a week would work) contact Reynolds coach Paul Jung at firstname.lastname@example.org or Mark Pratt at email@example.com or call/text 250-998-8746.
Belmont High School is also looking for a head coach. There is a lot of potential there for Velox in the future, but we need to keep their program going! If you can help out there, contact Steve Neish at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are interested in coaching, even one day a week, contact Mark Pratt about where you could be put to use.
