February 16, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Castaway Wanderers hosted the UVic Norsemen to Windsor Park on Saturday for a windy and chilly Vancouver Island Division 1 Times Cup match. The 3-1 Norsemen came away with a dominating performance as they downed the 2-2 Castaway Wanderers 61-19.

UVic would get on the board early and often as they controlled play throughout the game. Issac Kaay, Steve Lam and Fergus Hall each scored a pair of tries in the win.

The Castaway Wanderers, who couldn’t seem to put anything together had tries from Jake Morrison, Bruce Watson and Llyr Morris.
Both teams will be back in action on March 9 when UVic take on the league leading Velox Valhallians at Velox in a battle for top spot, while the CW boys will make the trek to Port Alberni to battle the Black Sheep.

In exhibition play the Velox Academy bested the Comox Kickers 38-31, while the Velox Valhallians, who were testing the Premier waters, lost to the Castaway Wanderers Premier side 37-5.
