Brittany Therrien, Maddy MacDonald and Stephanie Trenholm are ranked 2, 3, and 4 in the 1500m. MacDonald and Therrien are also ranked 3rd and 5th in the 3000m. The women’s 4×400 is ranked 3rd and the 4×800 2nd. The women look to capture the 4x800m title again this year.

The men’s team will be lead by Adam Gaudes and Thomas Riva who are both currently ranked number 1 in their respective events. Gaudes (2012 CIS 600m silver medalist) holds the top spot in the 600m, while Brendon Restall and John Pratt hold number 4 and 6 respectively. Riva is ranked number 1 in the 1000m, and Karl Robertson holds the number 3 spot. In the 1500m, the top 3 spots belong to the Vikes: Riva, Robertson and Cody Therrien.

Jackson Bocksnick and Josh Clouthier also hold the number 6 and 8 spots. In the 3000m, we have 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 7th spots. The top Vike is Ryan Cassidy, who was a CIS second team All- Canadian in the 2012 Cross country championships, followed by teammates, Cody Therrien, Forrest Simpson, and Josh Clouthier. The 4×400 team is ranked 3rd, but the 4×800 team is ranked 1st. The men also look to take the 4×800 crown again this year.

As well, for the first time ever, the men are looking for a larger goal of winning the entire Canada West Championships on the men’s side. This would be quite the feat considering the schools we are up against field both track field programs, while we only have a middle distance program.
