Royals Host Rockets For Two Including Canada Forces Appreciation Night

February 20, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Victoria Royals will host the BC Division-leading Kelowna Rockets on Friday, February 22nd and Saturday, February 23rd at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Puck drop for both games is set for 7:05 p.m. Saturday’s game also marks the second annual “Canadian Forces Appreciation Night” game!

Discounted tickets are available for Canadian Forces Appreciation Night game for just $12.00 to anyone showing their Military I.D. at the Select Your Tickets Box Office. For more information call the Box Office at 250-220-7777. Discounted tickets are subject to availability.

Friday, February 22nd

Friday night is a Royals Kids Club Night! Children 12 and under can visit the Kids Club table at Gate 1 to sign up for the Kids Club newsletter and receive a free gift! There will also be a draw for a Kids Club t-shirt. Xplornet will also be on hand at Gate 1 prior to puck drop on Friday inviting fans to answer a Royals trivia question for their chance to win a team-autographed jersey!

The first intermission will be Tim Bits Minor Hockey as presented by 100.3 The Q! which will feature players from Victoria Minor Hockey Association! During the second intermission, the Dairyland Milk 2 Go Shoot-off will see one lucky fan win a prize package from Dairyland and Save-On-Foods.

During the game, fans will be able to purchase tickets for the End of the Roll 50/50 draw and foam pucks for the Old House Village Chuck-A-Puck. Prizes for the evening’s Chuck-A-Puck will include a one-night stay and spa treatment for two courtesy of Old House Village and two adult day lift passes from Mount Washington Alpine Resort! Proceeds from the evening’s End of the Roll 50/50 will benefit Victoria Wild Fastball and the Old House Village Chuck-A-Puck will support the Victoria Athletic Association.

Saturday, February 23rd – “Canadian Forces Appreciation Night”

The Royals are proud to pay tribute to the Canadian Forces all night long this Saturday. There will be a variety of interactive displays from a number of branches of the Canadian Forces in the main concourse including Army vehicles and displays outside Gate 1. The Forces will also have numerous giveaways in the concourse.

The Royals will also honour our Forces in a pre-game ceremony which will feature a ceremonial puck drop and rapellor demonstration. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to Saturday night’s game to catch the Naden Band accompanied by a colour party perform our national anthem!

The Royals will be wearing a limited edition jersey that pays tribute to the Canadian Forces during Saturday’s game. These game-worn jerseys will be available to own by silent auction beginning on Friday, February 22nd and will be on display for all remaining Royals’ regular season home games this year. Following Saturday night’s game, fans are encouraged to stay in their seats and participate in the live jersey auction where you can bid on game-worn jerseys right off the players’ backs! All proceeds will go towards the Military Family Resource Centre, the Royals CanadianLand, Air and Sea Cadets of Victoria and the Mustard Seed Food Bank.

The second intermission will be the Forces Face-Off! Teams representing the Royal Canadian Army, Navy and Air Force will square off with fans in an on-ice relay where one team will reign supreme and take home a prize package!
