CW downs JBAA in Ceili’s Cup action

February 24,2013 Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Castaway Wanderers hosted the James Bay Athletic Association Bays in British Columbia Rugby Union Division 1 Ceili’s Cup action on Saturday at Windsor Park in Oak Bay, with the CW, powering their way to a 41-15 victory.

The Castaway Wanderers, who looked much more focused from week loss to the UVic Norsemen, gave up an early penalty kick to trail 3-0 but a pair of tries, one of them converted sent them in to the break up 12-3.

JBAA pushed back but too many dropped passes and a lack of finish allowed the CW to score four more tries in the 2nd half along with a penalty kick leading to the 41-15 final score.

With the win the CW move to 4-5 on the season and sit in 4th place while the struggling JBAA are in 7th place with a record of 1-6.

JBAA will be in tough next weekend as they take on the 2nd place Capilano’s at MacDonald Park while the Castaway Wanderers earn the bye.
