Victoria Cougars Aim To Close Series

February 27, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – The Victoria Cougars can advance to the VIJHL South Island Division Finals with a win over the Peninsula Panthers tomorrow.  Game time at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, located at 1151 Esquimalt Road, is 7:00 p.m.

On Monday, Victoria came away with an 8-1 victory to go up three-games-to-one in its best-of-seven series. Dane Feeney scored twice and added three assists to match a season-high five points.

Also scoring for the Cougars were Mark Walton (2), Ben Kinshella, Nathan Chen-Mack, Jamie Severs, and Kelyn Opel.

Victoria, which led 2-1 after one period and 7-1 after two, outshot the Panthers 47-6. After dropping a 5-3 decision in Game 2, the Cougars have outscored Peninsula 20-3 since then.

The winner will play either the Saanich Braves or Westshore Wolves. If necessary, Game 6 goes Friday night in North Saanich.
