March 14, 2013, Prince George, (ISN) – The Prince George Cougars regular season wraps up on Saturday. March 16th at home against the Kamloops Blazers and you will not want to miss it!
Not only will the Cougars be finishing the regular season against their closest rivals, but the evening will feature many special activities.
Saturday night is Special Olympics Awareness Night and representatives from Special Olympics British Columbia will be attending the game. Fans can look forward to an intermission figure skating performance from Fort St. John’s Darlene Jakubowski. Jakubowski, won both a gold and silver medal at the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games in the Republic of Korea, and also earned gold and silver medals in 2009 at the Games in Boise, Idaho.
Also, the Prince George Cougars will also be welcoming all of the participants from the 2013 Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl For Kid’s Sake event that was held earlier in March. All participants received a free ticket to Saturday’s game as a ‘thank you’ for participating in the event.
The evening will kick off with the Prince George Cougars team awards ceremony. Team awards include: Rookie of the Year, Most Dedicated Player, Scholastic Player of the Year, Most Valuable Player and Volunteer of the Year. Then there will be a special tribute to the three outgoing 20-yeear-old players: Dallas Ehrhardt, Ryan Hanes and Daniel Gibb.
