March 15, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – It was game one in the best of five, in the BCHL island division semi finals at Bear Mountain Arena on Friday night as the Victoria Grizzlies took on the Powell River Kings. The Kings selected Jonah Imoo to mind the net while the Grizzlies went with Brady Rouleau.
Four goals were scored during the first forty minutes of play and all were in favor of Victoria. Myles Fitzgerald opened the scoring in the first period at 5:41, and after a hard battle from both sides, Fitzgerald’s goal was the sole goal ending the period with the scoreboard showing 1-0 for the Grizzlies.

The next three Grizzlie goals started when Nolan De Jong buried one behind Imoo at 7:36. After more back and forth play, Josh Adkins found an opening and scored the Grizzlies third goal of the night which happened at the 14:27 mark.

Then at 18:31 Leo Fitzgerald gets a break and scores a power play goal on Imoo ending the second period with a score of 4-0 for the Grizzlies.

At 2:16 of the third period, JP Villeneuve took the opportunity that was given him and put the Kings on the board with a power play goal on Rouleau. The Grizzlies didn’t answer back until 15:40 when David Mazurek beat Imoo, changing the scoring to 5-1 Grizzlies.

It wasn’t long and the score changed again when Landon Robin scored for the Kings, the team’s second of the night, at 19:18, ending the game with the final score of 5-2 in favor of the Grizzlies. Total shots for the Grizzlies: 27 – Total shots for the PR Kings: 21.
