March 18, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – At Pearkes Arena in Victoria on Sunday night the Lions and the Sharks battled through game two of the best of five in the VHL playoffs in which the Sharks prevailed. The two teams now sit at one game each with a final score being 5-2.
With Matt Thomson in goal for the Lions and Dave Brumby in goal for the Sharks it was the Lions Tommy Kala who opened the scoring at 45 seconds in, gaining that all important lead.

Only minutes later, at 3:49, the Sharks answered back when Kelly Reynolds buried the puck in behind Thomson tying the game at one a piece.

Then at 4:15 while still energized by that tying goal, the Sharks added another to the board. It was Brian Passmore who plotted it, taking the game now within one and in the Sharks favor.

The Lions would even the score at the 10:17 mark when Shawn Mair beat Brumby, there would be no more goals added with the period ending with the scoreboard reflecting a 2-2 tie.

The second period was swimming with Sharks. Three Shark goals were added to the score with a lot of hard play from both sides. It was Danny Johns who scored the game-tipping go-ahead goal which came at 13:49.

Danny’s goal was quickly followed with one by Kurtis Dukelow at 15:53 and then one more by Danny Johns; his second of the night, ending the game with a final score of 5-2 Sharks.
