March 23, 2013, Montpellier, France (ISN) – Canada’s Fulltime Training Centre (FTC) squad lost its first match on its two-week European tour on Friday falling the French National Centre Team 25-23, 19-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-10. Canada’s record is 2-1.

Allen Meek of Sherwood Park, Alta., led Canada with 17 points, and Devon Parkinson of Richmond, B.C., added nine.

“Our passing was inconsistent and lacked precision,” said Canada’s FTC head coach Vincent Pichette. “We’ll need to be at our best next week when we face some top pro clubs which are preparing for their playoffs.”

Team Canada arrived here on Sunday for a two-week mix of training and matches. They have four more matches next week before returning to their home base in Gatineau on March 31.
