March 22, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – Registration for Spring/Summer Programs at the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE) will open on March 25. Online registration will be open at 12.01 am, and in person or by phone at 10 am.
The Spring/Summer session runs from April – August 2013. Parents can also register their kids for the PISE Sport Star Summer Camps. PISE offers a wide range of training programs for youth and adults at its facility on the Interurban Camosun College campus at 4371 Interurban Road, Victoria.
PISE’s popular strength and conditioning classes are returning including PISE H.I.I.T., Bootcamp, Superfit, Women on Weights and Strength & Conditioning 55+. New this Spring is Beginner Bootcamp, developed for beginners who are looking to get stronger, increase aerobic capacity and improve body composition in a fun, supportive and friendly environment, and Get’r Done, designed for men over the age of 40 who are looking to maintain a progressive strength based program to complement their current activities. Two popular adapted programs are returning – Wheelchair Basketball and Adapted Strength & Conditioning.
PISE continues to deliver Physical Literacy programs for children and youths from ages 11 on-site and in the community. New this spring is Girls MOVE!, a strength training program for ages 12 – 16, that focuses on the correct way to perform basic strength training techniques. Functional movement will be emphasized to enhance performance, strengthen bones/muscles, improve balance, and help prevent injuries.
Registration also opens on March 25 for PISE’s Sport Star Summer Camps. These popular, interactive, dynamic camps will be held in July and August and fill quickly so early registration is recommended.
