March 26, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) – Monday night was game three of five in the BCHL playoffs between the Victoria Grizzlies and the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
With the start of Monday night’s match, each team had one win under their belts with both teams doing quite well on their own home ice. Monday night’s meeting was no exception since the Grizzlies took the win in Victoria’s Bear Mountain Arena, sending the Bulldogs home with the round now standing at 2 wins to 1.

Halfway through the first period the Bulldogs still had yet to take a shot on Brady Rouleau, while the Grizzlies had pelted Jay Deo with 10 shots, their 11th shot being the keeper. It was the first goal of the period going to Myles Fitzgerald; a power play goal and Fitzgerald’s 4th of the playoffs, at 13:31.

At 18:03 the Grizzlies struck again, this time the goal went to Pearce Eviston changing the scoring to 2-0 for the Grizzlies and bringing the period to an end. Shots on net for the Grizzlies, 15 – Bulldogs, 5.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring midway through the second period with their 8th shot on net. It was a shorthanded goal by Matthew Hansen which happened at 10:40, getting his team on the board. The Grizzlies answered right back with a power play goal at 11:45 when David Mazurek buried the puck behind Deo. This was Mazurek’s 3rd playoff goal, ending the period with the score now at 3-1 Grizzlies.

It was Myles Powell’s turn to score for the Grizzlies, plotting his 1st goal of the playoffs at 7:23, also earning himself first star of the game. 2nd star went to Grizzlies Pearce Eviston, and 3rd star went to Grizzlies Zach Urban. Energy player of the game, Grizzlies Nolan De Jong. The final score, 4-1 Grizzlies.
Total shots on net for the Grizzlies, 35. Total shots for the Bulldogs, 15.
