Leo Fitzgerald started things off for the Grizzlies at 9:46 scoring a power play goal on Jay Deo which was Fitzgerald’s 6th of the playoffs, and even though the shots on net remained fairly equal for both teams, Fitzgerald’s goal was the only goal scored during the first twenty minutes of play.

The game was getting a little rough but not on purpose, both teams were traveling in high gear and ‘scoring goals’ were their main focus. Although the Grizzlies overshot the Bulldogs by the time the second period was halfway through, it was the Bulldogs who plotted the next one. It came at 12:01 when Manny Gialedakis buried the puck in behind Brady Rouleau tying the game at 1-1and sending the Bulldogs’ fans into a frenzy.

The game was becoming very tense as the third period opened, you knew that both teams wanted this win desperately. The next goal didn’t come until 15:11 when Leo Fitzgerald scored for the Grizzlies, getting his second of the game and 7th of the playoffs, tying the game at 2-2 and sending the game into overtime. By this time the Grizzlies had 41 shots on net and the Bulldogs had 23.

The moment had arrived but it was very short lived, with 18 seconds into the third period the Alberni Valley Bulldogs finish it all off. Mak Barden beat Rouleau, sending the Grizzlies back into hibernation until next season. The final score, 3-2 Bulldogs.
