March 28, 2013, Ottawa, ON (ISN) – Athletics Canada announced today that Scott MacDonald is taking on the role of High Performance Director. MacDonald was promoted from within, having held the role of Director of National Team Programs since 2005.
“I am honoured to step into this new position as High Performance Director while excited about the opportunity to help navigate our path to international success from a leadership position” says Scott MacDonald. “We have great coaches and athletes in this country and I cannot wait to work with them to show the World what Canadians can do, in what I believe is a new era at Athletics Canada.” MacDonald adds; “I look forward to establishing clear and open lines of communication and dialogue with athletes, coaches, administrators, and support team members across the country so that together we can all play our part in the relentless pursuit of excellence.”
Rob Guy, Athletics Canada Chief Executive Officer adds; “Congratulations to Scott on his new role within our team. Scott comes to this position with the necessary vision and plan to execute on performance objectives.”
The High Performance Director is responsible for aligning technical and high performance components of Athletics Canada’s strategic plan as well as managing all external technical relations.
