April 4, 2013, (ISN) – Starting with Game 3 – Tuesday, March 22nd, 2013 at Victoria Royals – 2-1 Loss. The Blazers may have played one of their best games of the series in Game 3, but ended up loosing 2-1.
The Royals opened the scoring with a late goal by Ben Walker in the first period. The Blazers tied it up on the power play in the second period on a shot by JC Lipon. The Royals got a tremendous break on the winner as Tim Traber shot a puck toward the front of the net deflecting off goaltender Cole Cheveldave and in. The Blazers failed to tie it up falling 2-1 to the Royals. The Blazers outshot the Royals 40-28 in the game. Recap and Highlights.
Game 4 – Thursday, March 23rd, 2013 at Victoria Royals – 5-4 OT Win
The Blazers rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to come back and win 5-4 in overtime. Kale Kessy had a big night for the Blazers scoring three times as the Blazers trailed by a goal going into the third period. Marek Hrbas tied the game up late in the third to send it to overtime. The Blazers continued the pressure into overtime and Dylan Willick was the hero for a 5-4 win. The Blazers outshot the Royals 48-24 overall including 11-4 in overtime. The win gave the Blazers a 3-1 series lead Recap and Highlights.
Game 5 – Saturday, March 23rd, 2013 vs. Victoria Royals – 4-2 Loss
The Blazers were looking to close out the series on home ice but fell 4-2 to the Royals. Jamie Crooks gave the Royals a 1-0 lead on a breakaway in the first period. The Blazers took the lead back with a strong second period on goals by Chase Souto and Colin Smith. The Royals tied it up late in the second period and scored the winner midway through the third period on goals by Brett Cote. Logan Nelson scored an empty net goal for a 4-2 win. Game 6 – Monday, April 1st, 2013 at Victoria Royals – 6-2 Win
The Blazers had a strong road effort to close out the series in Victoria. Goals by Cole Ully and Kale Kessy gave the Blazers a 2-0 first period lead. The Royals crawled back in the second, but the Blazers continued to hold the lead and late goals by Sam Grist and JC Lipon killed any momentum the Royals had. Kale Kessy completed his hat-trick in the third period as the Blazers cruised to a 6-2 win. The Blazers, who dominated the shot clock in every game in the series, outshot the Royals 43-18. Blazers down Royals 4-2 in best-of-seven first round series
The Kamloops Blazers beat the Victoria Royals in a WHL Western Conference best-of-seven quarter-final series 4-2. The Blazers clinched the series with a 6-2 win over the Royals on Monday night in Victoria.

Blazers to meet Rockets in Second Round of WHL Playoffs
The Kamloops Blazers will meet the Kelowna Rockets in a best-of-seven WHL Western Conference semi-final starting this Saturday and Sunday in Kelowna. The Blazers are in the second round of the WHL playoffs for the second consecutive year. This is the first time the Blazers are onto the next round in two consecutive seasons since 1994-95 and 1995-96.

Lipon, Smith, Kessy and Ranford lead Blazers to Series Win
The Kamloops Blazers were led by their veterans in the 4-2 series win against the Victoria Royals. JC Lipon leads the WHL in playoff scoring with four goals, 10 assists and 14 points in only six games. Lipon and Colin Smith have 10 assists apiece which is tops among WHL playoff scorers.
Kale Kessy had a monster series recording two hat-tricks and totalling seven goals in the six-game series to lead all WHL players. Brendan Ranford also had a tremendous series with nine assists and 10 points.
Lipon, Smith, Kessy and Ranford totalled 13 goals and 31 assists for 54 points in the six-game series. The rest of the Blazers line-up scored 10 times and added 13 assists for 23 points in the series.
